One of Cincinnati's Public Manufacturers Names New CFO

Workhorse Group Inc., a Loveland-based manufacturer of electric vehicles, has hired a new chief financial officer.

Paul Gaitan took over as CFO at Workhorse (NASDAQ: WKHS) from Julio Rodriguez, effective Aug. 9. Rodriquez, who had served in the role since August 2013, moves into the job of chief information officer, where he will be responsible for expanding the systems and information infrastructure for global supply chain management and large-scale manufacturing.

“We welcome Paul, a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in high growth-stage companies across multiple manufacturing environments,” Steve Burns, CEO of Workhorse, said in a statement. “As we commence the process of transitioning to large scale operations, Paul brings operational, business and leadership abilities that will reinforce our fiscal and risk integrity to enable our growth worldwide. We thank Julio for his service in transitioning our company to a listing on a major exchange, and look forward to his continued leadership as he takes on the critical role of building our information systems necessary for scalable growth.”

Gaitan was most recently the CFO of Crown Health Care Laundry Services in Pensacola, Fla. P reviously, he was CFO, corporate controller and controller for ClarkDietrich Building Systems, and in various controller roles at Axion Automotive Technologies, Endar Corporation, Dentsply International, Avery Dennison and Cummins Engine Company.

He received his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Southern California and his MBA from Stanford University with a concentration in production control systems.

Workhorse, formerly known as AMP Vehicles has been gaining increased national attention following a test of its electric delivery trucks with mounted drones carried out by United Parcel Service. UPS also recently ordered 200 new hybrid electric delivery trucks from Workhorse, expanding its fleet that already included 125 of the locally made vehicles.

The company made a public offering of stock earlier this year.
