Sep 21, 2017

Maximized Cargo Space Coupled with Ease of Operation

Workhorse will unveil a new low-floor chassis for delivery vehicles next week, to be available for both 100% battery and range-extended electric vehicles.

‘The ultra-low, 19-inch floor design maximizes cargo space, reduces knee injuries, and provides ease of operation, Workhorse says. The Workhorse Low Floor Delivery Platform Chassis features a 19-inch floor design that “maximizes cargo space, reduces knee injuries, and provides ease of operation.” Standard features include all-wheel drive, automatic braking and best-in-class 26-foot turning radius, said to be “best-in-class.”

A custom body can be built on the chassis to best suit individual applications.

‘Perfect Choice’

The LFDP, states a flyer, is “a perfect choice for the package delivery industry.”

The Workhorse LFDP chassis will be unveiled at Post-Expo 2017 in Switzerland.

A custom body can be built on the new low-floor chassis ‘to best suit individual applications,’ Workhorse says. Workhorse said too today that it’s a finalist for the Post-Expo/Postal Innovation Platform (PIP) Startup Innovation Award for its HorseFly UAV/unmanned aerial delivery system, which has been tested by UPS (F&F, February 22). The company says it’s one of 12 finalists, and “one of only two finalists from the United States.”

The meeting at Geneva’s Palexpo convention center runs September 26-28.
